About Your Chef
Every since I was 10 years old, I have always loved cooking! I cooked for everyone, including ill or elderly neighbors, and for big family dinners alongside my mother. I spent several years as a technical writer before returning to my true love and embarking on a culinary path.
I combined my experience and my passion with formal training from The Art Institute of Michigan for Culinary Management. I was honored to serve as a personal chef, helping people gather around the dinner table without having to worry about the stress of what to cook. I really enjoyed helping them celebrate surprise birthdays, engagements, and golden anniversaries.
After suffering a debilitating mystery illness that caused unbearable chronic pain, I began doing extensive research into the use of food as my medicine. Since then, I have taught and supported women living with chronic pain. I encourage them to continue to look at food as medicine. I love to use cooking and food education to help women feel their absolute best without resorting to drugs.
My vision is a world where women can fight off illnesses and chronic pain through culinary medicine and stress management - without drugs. Women are manifesting more chronic pain than ever before. The answer is not more drugs that will cause side effects, thereby requiring yet more drugs. Instead, the answer is to use food and stress management as our medicine. If we can heal our women, we can heal our families.
As a personal chef, I have helped bring people together through food. Now my life’s mission as a Culinary Coach is to heal women through food and stress management techniques. In addition to receiving certification from Harvard Medical School for Lifestyle Medicine, I use every opportunity to learn about how we can use food to live better lives.
I also enjoy volunteering for hunger relief and food education agencies like Cooking Matters and a host of others. As part of my continual journey to stay up-to-date on culinary trends, I love finding inspiration in the most obscure of places, from street food carts to gourmet food magazines.
I currently live in Columbus, Ohio with my collection of cookbooks.
